I will live with Jesus                                                      -The foundation of faith

God is the creator of heaven and earth (see Genesis chapters 1-2). Since the Fall of Adam and Eve in paradise, human beings have been living in sin and are subject to death (see Genesis 3). Since then we have been living in a fallen creation, with all the consequences this entails – disease, toil and drudgery at work, wars and so on.

The people of Israel is the people of God, and enjoys the special blessing of God. God so loved the world, that he sent his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, from the glory of heaven to the earth (see John 3,16). Jesus lived without sin, and so was able to die on the cross on Golgotha for our sins.

The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5,21:

"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin;  that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."

On the third day Jesus Christ rose from the dead.

If you accept the offer of Jesus Christ, repent and believe in him, he will save you from the coming judgement. All those who do not accept this offer will be lost, and will have to spend eternity in eternal fire in the most frightful conditions. What glory those can expect who believe in Jesus Christ.

The Bible tells us in Luke 24,44 - 47:
"And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. The opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem."

At Pentecost the Holy Spirit was poured out on the faithful. The first Christian congregation came into being. Today, more than 2000 years after the birth of Jesus, the hope is growing that Jesus Christ will soon return, as he has promised us in his Word. This hope tells us, in Revelation 22,7:
"Behold, I [Jesus] come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the saying of the prophecy of this book."
